Leslie Nielsen

The Canadian-born actor Leslie Nielsen passed away this week at the age of 84.He was best known for his roles in "Airplane"  and the "Naked Gun".But he was more than a comedian, appeaing in dramas, sci-fi films and romantic comedies during his long creer on the big and small screens.

The future of Leslie Nielsen's final film is in doubt because the animated movie's creator is still hunting for investors to finance the project's completion.

However, the film's creator Bryan Waterman admits the project is far from ready, telling TMZ.com that a "great deal" of production needs to be completed. He is currently taking donations from sponsors in exchange for a "special thanks" at the end of the movie to be able to finance further work.

Nevertheless, Waterman insists the project will feature Nielsen when it is finally released, and on his website the animator remembers his time with the beloved star fondly.

He writes, "There is no word greater than 'impossible', to describe the anomaly I was fortunate enough to be a part of. If only for a little while, I was friends with a super hero. From a fan, to a legend, you will be deeply missed."
